Nasha Mukt Parisar Abhiyaan
Nasha Mukt Parisar Abhiyaan was launched on 13th January (Tuesday) by University of Delhi. A dedicated Drug-Free Campus portal and mobile application, rolling out a campus-wide campaign against substance abuse.
The initiative was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice-President Sh. CP Radhakrishnan who called for similar campaigns to be initiated across all central higher educational institutions. Union education minister Sh. Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi education minister Sh. Ashish Sood were also present.
Vice President said drug-free youth are not only essential for personal and economic development but also for the prosperity and stability of our country. He said this campaign will make not only our campus but the entire county drug-free.
Union education minister added that “Drugs are neither freedom nor rebellion. What begins as curiosity often ends in dependency, poor health and a damaged future.” He urged students to seek help if they were struggling with addiction.
Prof. Yogesh Singh Vice Chancellor University of Delhi informed the audience that Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute of Delhi University had launched national helpline services for quitting tobacco.
More that thousand NSS Volunteers from various colleges actively participated in the campaign and took pledge to make drug free campus by committing to a drug-free lifestyle and encouraging others to do the same. Support individuals struggling with addiction and guide them towards rehabilitation. Promote health and positive activities that foster a drug-free community.
